Café de Flore in Paris

Café de Flore is one of the most famous cafés in Paris. It’s located in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighborhood, on the Left Bank. The café opened in the 1880s and has been popular ever since. The name comes from a statue of the Roman goddess Flora that used to be nearby.

In the 20th century, Café de Flore became known as a meeting place for writers, artists, and philosophers. Famous people like Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, and Albert Camus used to come here to work, talk, and drink coffee. It was also popular with painters, filmmakers, and fashion designers.

The café still looks the same as it did many years ago, with red seating, small round tables, and Art Deco-style decorations. It serves typical French food and drinks like coffee, hot chocolate, croissants, salads, and omelets. Many people come to enjoy the atmosphere and watch the street from the outdoor terrace.

Today, Café de Flore is a symbol of Parisian café culture. It’s often busy with both locals and tourists. Some visit for the history, others just for a break in a beautiful part of the city. Even though it’s more expensive than many other cafés, it remains one of the most iconic places in Paris.
